Wonky Bead Hop!

Welcome to the Wonky Bead Hop hosted by Kristi Bowman Designs!

Kristi had 3 different sets of her polymer clay beads for us to purchase. I forgot to take a picture of mine before I started making them. See them at Kristi's blog: http://dreamsomedesigns.blogspot.com/2013/09/wonky-bead-blog-hop-reveal.html

I new when I got the beads I wanted to do something outside my comfort zone. I have been wanting to try and make a knotted necklace for quite some time so I decided that is what I would do with my beads. I added some turquoise nuggets and carved coral flowers to Kristi's beads to make my necklace. I also found in my stash of beads this red carved cinnabar pendant that went perfectly with the beads Kristi made.

I also made a pair of earrings with the disc beads I purchased from Kristi and added some black glass beads and red coral beads.

Hope you enjoyed my creations.
Be sure and check out Kristi's blog for links the other Hop's http://dreamsomedesigns.blogspot.com/2013/09/wonky-bead-blog-hop-reveal.html

Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal

Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal

Today is the day of the Bead Soup Blog Party Reveal.
My bead soup blog partner Kim Hora of http://www.kimmykats.com/ sent me a soup mix with pottery beads and amazonite and tigers eye and glass beads and a handmade clasp and toggle clasp. She also sent me one of her necklaces made from silverware.  Be sure and check out here Etsy shop for her necklaces made from silverware. Kim's Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/shop/kimmykats.  Here is the picture of what she sent me.

Now for the REVEAL!

I made this necklace using the pottery bead and pottery clasp/focal. I used some of the amazonite beads and glass beads that Kim sent me and then added some green stick pearls and fancy jasper beads. The necklace connects in the front with the handmade made clasp. The necklace measure 22" long and hooks in the front. I think the picture in on the white background shows the colors better.

The earrings are made by me using sterling silver filled wire that has been hammered into a stick and I wrapped the amazonite beads and tigers eye beads sent to me by Kim onto the sticks. I oxidized the earrings to match the clasp. The earrings measure 2 1/4" long, and have 10mm round amazonite and 8mm round tigers eye.

Be sure and check out Kim's blog:
http://www.kimmykats.com/ and check out watch she made with the soup I sent her.

Also be sure and Check out the Bead Soup Blog Party website for a complete list of all participants in the first reveal.

Bead Soup

Bead Soup 2013

My bead soup partner is Kim Hora of Kimmy Kats. She makes jewelry from silverware. I love the vintage and rustic feeling of her jewelry. Check out her blog at: http://www.kimmykats.com/. She also has an etsy store with her jewelry for sale: http://www.etsy.com/shop/kimmykats.

I received my bead soup from her. It has Pottery and glass beads and handmade clasps in it. Since I normally don't work with pottery it will be fun to see what I can come up with.
Here is the soup I received from Kim.
She also included one of her pieces of jewelry that is hand stamped and made from silverware.
Thanks KIM!

New Earrings Listed!

I listed some new earrings in my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/lauriesjewelbox?ref=si_shop.
They feature gemstone and sterling silver filled wire. They are made on a hammered sterling silver filled stick and have sterling silver filled wire wrapped around the gemstones. I really like the look of these earrings. The silver really shows the gemstones. Enjoy.
These earrings have carnelian and unakite.
